The BI-Annual National Convention in Durban was well attended by members from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town & Durban and it went very well with the theme “the Ocean of Theosophy”

What is it about : The course will introduce you to the concepts of Logos (and Logoi) and Its expression in the Solar System and in Planetary Evolution, through the system of Rounds and Chains, the development and evolution of the various kingdoms of creation (etheric, mineral, plant, animal, human, deva and superhuman), the evolution of Life, in Form and Consciousness, the place of teachings like reincarnation, karma, enlightenment, judgement days, heaven, hell, etc. Obviously we will also have to consider the terms/concepts of Soul, Personality, Monad, Spirit, etc…
Where : At the Germiston Lodge of the Theosophical Society. The lodge is situated at the residence of Vic and Barbara Dobson (Barbara is the Lodge President) at 70-B Cachet Road, Parkhill Gardens, Germiston. (tel: 011-827-6035, cell: 082-959-0820).
When : The Lodge meets on the second Saturday of the month at 14h00, every month, and the course will start on Saturday, 14 February 2009 (at 14h00), and continue monthly thereafter.
More : The course is quite comprehensive and we will have discussions and debates – there is no limit to the series of questions and answers that we will consider. When the course was presented at previous venues, the series lasted for over two years… This is the course where Theosophy gives you the answers from the Ageless and Ancient Wisdom Tradition which Religion and Philosophy attempted to do. We will look at what Religions really are trying to say in their clumsy and distorted, misinterpreted and often-corrupted doctrines… We will touch on well-known religious doctrines and ideas and the symbolic expressions of Ageless Wisdom aspects in World Scriptures, etc
The course will be accompanied by PowerPoint presentations as well as notes. You will have to pay for the cost of photocopies, but otherwise there will be no charge, except for the usual donation to the Lodge to cover lodge expenses…
